Freelance Illustrator, Austin, TX


Catherine Barrera is a 28 year old illustrator born in the Texas Hill Country. Daughter of Mexican immigrants her travels between The United States and Mexico have greatly influenced her art.

Her love for anime and cartoons sparked her interest in drawing at a young age leading to painting and finally settling into the digital world of art. She pursued an associates degree in Graphic Design from Austin Community College and currently freelances as an illustrator and self taught animator in Austin, Texas.

Cat was featured as Austin's Mexic-arte Changarreando artist for the month of August in 2020.

Her art has been used and displayed as poster art in various music venues throughout Austin.

Cat has done work for Pabst Blue Ribbon, many well known Austin staples like the music venue Mohawk, The Far Out Lounge, Raw Paw Screen Printers, Swan Dive, Day Dreamer app, and various indie bands from all over.
